This series of PhotoChromic colors come in basic colors such as red, blue, yellow, green and purple. When these colors are indoor and not exposed to ultraviolet light, they are almost colorless. Discharge technique works very well with vintage looking designs because of the natural look and soft hand feel. How to Get Your Custom T-shirts Printing Job Done Fast

Here is a few tips for people looking for fast turnaround screen printed t-shirts. (These advises are for people looking for fast screen printed t-shirts instead of digitally printed t-shirts. Digitally printed t-shirts are done in a different process than screen print t-shirts, they have the advantage in speeding up the process since they do not need color separation and screen burning process. However screen printed t-shirts have better imprint color quality as well as better imprint longevity.)

Here is a check list for you to speed up your custom t-shirts job.

How ready is your artwork? Artwork can be categorized into 2 groups based on their origins. First are scanned images and second are computer generated images. In the first group, paintings, photographs, printed materials or the similar are scanned and save as digital files of your artwork. Quality of your digital artwork has a lot to do with your scanning resolution. Normal requirement is 300 dpi (dot per inch). However keep in mind that your reproductions will not be better than your originals. So no matter how high your scanning resolution is, you are simply not getting a better reproduction image if your original is not. So in a nutshell for people using this group of artwork, find the best quality original you can. Scan it at 300 dpi or better. Save it and send it to your printer without re-sizing it. The file size of your scanned image will potentially be big. However, supportive printer should be able to accommodate your file sending by either increasing the mail box size or arrange a FTP transfer for you. In the second group, computer generated images, we have 2 sub-groups which are raster images and vector images. Raster images are resolution dependant images such formats as tiff, jpg, psd.

The only requirement for this group is to make sure they are created in actual imprint size (or close to actual imprint size), and are in 300 dpi as original resolution (not resample resolution). The file size of this sub-group is potentially big, make sure you talk to your printers about the size of your artwork file before sending. The second sub-group is called vector based images such formats as ai, eps. They are resizable, non-resolution dependent artwork. Their file size are usually reasonable. They are very welcome by most printers due to their non-resolution dependent nature. When you submit vector based images, just make sure you create outlines for your type (so your printer won't run into missing font problem when opening your artwork), your image is created at actual size or close to actual size. And of course if you have a printer who is knowledgeable and capable in preparing artwork for you for a reasonable cost, that could be your best bet in making sure you don't waste time going back and forth on artwork format and requirement with your printer.

Do you know the type of shirts you want? There are many choices of shirts you can get . Make sure you did your homework and know what you want when placing an order for your custom t-shirts. If you just want basic t-shirts, it is pretty simple. Even though there are many brands of basic t-shirts, they are normally in 2 classes of fabric weight, 5.6 oz and 6.1 oz. Then you have pocket and non-pocket t-shirts for each weight, as well as long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts. Beside basic t-shirts, you will have fashion fitting t-shirts such as American Apparel and Tultex, these are slimmer fitting than the basic t-shirts. They are in ring-spun 30 single fine jersey fabric, meaning softer and finer fabric. Then we have even more choices for girls and ladies t-shirts such as cap sleeve, raglan 3/4 sleeve, scoop neck, boys beater tank tops, baby doll spaghetti, ringer t-shirts, camouflage t-shirts etc...

Do you research on t-shirt styles ahead of time will not only save you time, it will allow you to find the best style for your event.

If your custom t-shirts job requires individual names or numbers printed (such as team numbers), prepare a list to indicate the names or numbers and their sizes to expedite the process.

If there is dead line to meet, make sure your printer is aware of it as well as taken shipping time into consideration.

If you are under press of time and without artwork. Ask if your printer has any kind of ready art library that you can pick and ask them to modify to fit your requirement. It will be much faster than having yourselves starting from scratch.

Give your printer the Pantone number to indicate your imprint color when submitting your t-shirts order. This will save some time in communication and help speeding up your order.

Interviews are when first impressions are made and will determine a job candidate's success or failure in obtaining an offer for employment. In order to be viewed as a serious contender for the position, your physical appearance must meet the standards for whatever particular industry you desire to become employed within. Failure to meet any and all of these requirements, can result in missed employment opportunities.

Job candidates are usually sized-up immediately within the first few minutes of meeting an interviewer(s). Your choice of clothing and personal hygiene standards will determine whether or not you are a good fit for the organization. You must "look the part" in order to be successful.

Because clothing covers at least 90% of your body, it will have the most impact on how others view you. Your choice of clothing also determines whether or not you will fit into the "inner culture", by demonstrating your level of knowledge and respect for the industry's/company's standards. Always dress conservatively and your clothing will never do the talking for you!

In addition to your choice of proper interview outfits, personal hygiene ranks as equally important. Expensive clothing cannot be offset by poor personal hygiene. Having dirt under your fingernails will be noticed and remembered more so than an expensive well-tailored suit.

Select conservative/traditional, business-type, clothing that is neither trendy nor flashy. Remember the focus should be on you and not on your clothing. The best suit styles to choose for interviews are 100% tropical worsted wool in a year-round weight. They should be single-breasted, center-vented, and have either two or three buttons with the bottom button always left unbuttoned. Proper colors for interview suits are solid colors in navy blue and charcoal grey. Pants can be either plain front or double pleated. Plain front can be worn either cuffed or uncuffed. Pleated styles should always be cuffed. Traditional sized cuffs are either 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" in width. Plain front pants should always be worn with a belt. Pleated styles can be worn with either a belt or "button-type" braces (suspenders), but never both together. When purchasing a suit make sure that you find out what length you require for your particular height and weight. Suits are available in short, regular, long, extra long, and portly sizes. I know that most men do not think as much about fashion as most women, but that doesn't make it any less important. In order to make the right impression on your boss or potential partner, wearing the right style for men is important. As a color consultant, I want to tell you how important choosing the right tones really are. To figure out the right colors for you, first take a look at your natural contrast. If you have dark hair and light skin and dark or medium eyes, you have a high contrast look. If you have medium-brown hair, medium-light skin and medium-dark eyes, you are a medium contrast person. Lastly, you are a low-contrast look if your hair, skin and eyes are softly blended, such as blonde hair, light blue eyes and light skin. If your coloring is dark, look at the contrast of your hair, skin and eye color and compare that to the whites of your eyes and teeth. If your teeth or eyes are bright white, it is high contrast with your complexion, soft bone to soft gray would be medium contrast and deeper gray or beige is low contrast. Now that you've figured out your natural contrast, it is time to pick the right colors for you.

As a color consultant, I know that style for men (or anyone for that matter) can be difficult. There are so many shades and tones to choose from. When you pick clothes, keep your natural contrast in mind. Men with high contrast can wear color combinations that are also high contrast, like black and white or dark brown and ivory. Medium contrast looks can wear what would be the equivalent to the values of brown mixed with camel or brown and orange. Low contrast looks need to shoot for very blended looks and can wear values of ivory and peach or black and brown.

How does your contrast help you make the right statement? If you wear something that is too high-contrast for you look, people will notice is what you are wearing, not you. Another mistake made in style for men is choosing an outfit that is too low contrast. If you do this, people will not see you. Any color consultant will tell you that choosing the right contrast is important in communicating the right message.

Origins - Call to Arms in Short Sleeves

The t-shirts humble beginnings can be traced back to the early 1930's. WWI European soldiers entrenched in mud wore the t-shirt as an undergarment. The advantages of the light cotton underwear were quickly adopted by the US military. By WWII the US Army and Navy had supplied the t-shirt as standard issue. T-shirts at the time were still considered underwear and not worn casually.

1950's - Cult Movie Bad Boys

With the help of a sweating Brando in the 1951 film "A Streetcar Named Desire", and later a brooding James Dean in "Rebel without a Cause" the t-shirt had moved to mainstream youth culture. By the time Elvis had gyrated, the teenage rebellion seed was planted and along with denim jeans the t-shirt had become the hot fashion statement.

1960's - From Beatniks to Vietnam

The 60's were well known for social upheavals and political events. Many subcultures developed from Beatniks, Mods, Rockers to eventually Hippy's. 1970's - Your Disco Needs You

Rock emerged beating to death the Hippy's with their own sandals. The black t-shirt was now standard issue with printed logos of stadium rock Supergroups such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC and Pink Floyd. In the course of the mid 70's Surf apparel started appearing. Niche surfing brands such as Lightning Bolt, Billabong, Rip Curl and Quiksilver would later become big corporations. Athletic giants Adidas, Puma, Reebok and Nike also gained prominence with their branded printed tees, shoes and apparel. The decade was also known for it's many classic t-shirt motto's including the Smiley face, "Sh*t Happens" and "I love NY" which would see a revival after 911. Fonzie in the TV sitcom Happy Days paid homage to Brando and Dean 20 years before by reintroducing the blank white tee. In 1977 the Star Wars phenomenon had exploded. Star Wars t-shirts were everywhere for the tween. But for the twenty something's there was of course Disco. With movies like Saturday Night Fever and Thank God it's Friday the flared trousers and tight t-shirts became the usual 70's silhouette.

I am a T-Shirt. You can say that the tale of my beginnings is as long as my arm. Perhaps you think that this is pretty short but in fact it is quite a long one, like my arm was once and is now sometimes. It is a pity that Charles Darwin was not around when I began life in this world or he would've been tremendously engrossed in my evolution.

I began life as a unassuming piece of clothe, buried under a layer and sometimes layers of clothing that a man wore. I spent my life out of sight, drenched in his sweat, either due to his toils or due to the weather or just because of a little metabolic oddity that he had. Sometimes some primeval fear made him sweat.

I was not known as a T-Shirt then, but as only a piece of undergarment. The idea of underwear did not in reality takeoff till the early 20^th. century when P.H. Hanes, the brother of John Wesley Hanes, started the P.H. Hanes Knitting Company, in 1901; and began the production of masculine underwear. It was the U.S. Navy that actually accelerated my development when, during the Second World War, it issued my forerunner, a dress with a round neck and short sleeves having an appearance of a "T" (hence the T-Shirt).

Although I was still thought of as an undergarment, the news bulletins from the European war theatre showed me being dressed in the open by the European soldiers, to beat the heat and sultry European atmosphere. But, as it happens all the time, Hollywood walked in to make me more accepted as an apparel on my own rights. I, a T-Shirt, became to be taken note of and fashionable by the 50s when I was seen on the big screen, worn by Marlon Brando in the movie "A Streetcar Named Desire" followed by James Dean in the film "Rebel Without a Cause". The more I appeared on the silver screen the more my reputation grew as a T-Shirt. I became a national phenomenon.

The reason that this technology is still very popular among advertisers in custom screen print industry is the magical transformation of colors. This series of PhotoChromic colors come in basic colors such as red, blue, yellow, green and purple. When these colors are indoor and not exposed to ultraviolet light, they are almost colorless. However, when they are exposed to ultraviolet light (including sunlight) they will gradually turn into their own colors. The stronger light and longer expose duration, the higher the intensity of the colors. Discharge Printing

Discharge in screen printing technique means removing the pigment from fabric through the printing of discharge ink. Discharge ink is a mixture of water-based-color base and discharge agent. Once a dischargeable fabric is printed with discharge ink and pass through a heat dryer, discharge agent in the discharge ink will be activated by the heat and either reduce or discharge the color pigment in the fabric. Therefore the printed area becomes so-called naked (without being covered by color pigment). The resulting color of the printed area is usually in canvas color, which is the natural color of the fabric before it was dyed into different colors. The hand feel is very soft since it’s not an additive process.

Discharge technique works very well with vintage looking designs because of the natural look and soft hand feel. It also works better with dark color t-shirts since the dark color t-shirts will set a stronger color contrast with the natural canvas color. The discharge technique can be applied with water base pigment. Therefore discharge printing in color can be achieved. It still gives you all the advantages including vintage look and soft hand feel. The only drawback is the difficulty in achieving accurate color matching.
