Organize Your Closets

Are you already fed up with the mess you see once you open your closet? Maybe it’s high time that you take time off to organize it and make it look like a human being is using it.

Everyday we pull out clothes that we are going to use from our closets. Also, at least once a weak, after the laundry is done, we add these clothes back to our closets. Most of the time, due to our busy schedule or just because of our laziness, we take for granted the way we do these things.

We pull out clothes and accessories in a quick manner and then other stuff gets disarranged. After the laundry, we put back these clothes unmindfully. Thus, we end up having a total mess in our closets.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can organize your closets and make them look neat again.

1. The very first thing you have to do is to remove everything from your closet. This will give you an idea, in case you have forgotten, of how big a space you have in your closet. Once you see the whole empty space, you can now have a plan in mind on how you are going to arrange everything.

Make a mental note on what you want to put where. If you also have a space for your shoes and other accessories in your closet, make sure they will all be in the right place and well seperated.

While your closet is empty, take the advantage to clean it. You can probably rub it down with a washcloth, soap and water. For a more enticing smell, you can use a scented liquid soap to clean your closet.

2. The next thing you have to do is to seperate the pieces that you have just removed from your closet. This might be the most difficult part of the task especially if you already have a monstrous mass piled up in your closet. You might even discover things that you thought you’ve lost a long time ago.

Useful Information About Clothes

Clothes do not make a man, but they certainly affect how he is perceived. Perhaps this is the reason why the fashion industry, despite being criticized for its sometimes over-the-top prices, is still booming. Just what do clothes say about a person? Here we discuss some interesting points.

Aside from serving the practical function of giving the body protection against weather and other elements, clothes are a way of expressing social dynamics that include economic and marital status, profession, spiritual affiliations and sexuality.

Even in this modern age, most societies still delineate among social classes through clothing. Unlike the days of the Roman Empire when only high-ranking government officials could wear mauve, there are no longer laws dictating what kinds of clothing people can wear. Social delineation through clothing is more discreet though still prevalent. For example, because of the high prices of designer clothes and accessories, only the well to do can afford to wear them.

Of course, clothing still shows very clearly what the occupation of a certain individual is. People working in the medical profession wear certain garb that set them apart from people working as firemen, police officers or soldiers, for example. Pastors, priests and other members of religious order also wear distinct uniforms, as do some students in formal schools.

How to Store Clothing - 8 Great Tips

Can't seem to find that cute outfit you want to wear? Do your clothes have hanger lines? Are you running out of closet space? These tips will help you store your clothes more efficiently, keep them in tip top shape and save on closet space so you can buy more clothes!!

Before Your Begin

  • Make sure that you have emptied your closet of all clothing that are torn, stained and no longer wearable. Get rid of shoes that hurt your feet and are worn out. Throw away belts with broken buckles and broken or mismatched jewelry.
  • Donate serviceable items that you haven't worn in the last year or are too large or too small. Donating to others will give you a good feeling and free up your closet space for clothing that fits and makes you look and feel good.
  • Work on separation anxiety. Most women love to shop for new clothes, but feel guilty getting rid of clothing. Why? Different factors are involved. Sometimes it's because we feel like we're throwing (or giving) away something of value. We've spent our hard earned cash on those clothes. Other times we feel guilty because we know we've gained that extra 10 or 20 pounds and getting rid of an item that doesn't fit is a reminder of that fact. What to do? Realize that letting go of items that no longer serves your current needs may benefit someone else. Let go of the fantasy. Be realistic about whether you are going to lose weight and fit into that outfit. If you're not willing to do the work, donate it!

How To Create A Perfect Wardrobe

Want to know the secret to creating a foolproof wardrobe? It's all about "buying less and spending more."

The ultimate goal is to build a wardrobe of clothes that suit you perfectly and that will mix and match easily to create innumerable outfits. It may take you several years to get there, but the result is absolutely worth it.

A perfect wardrobe should be made up of 60% Classic pieces 20% Basics and 20% Trend.

You probably already have a few classic pieces in your wardrobe. By classic we mean pieces that won't date quickly, can be worn with lots of things and suit your body shape and colouring well. These are the items you paid more for but are made of high quality natural fibres and have seen you through several seasons. By purchasing classic pieces over a longer period of time, pairing them with good quality basics and keeping current with a few trend items like the latest handbag, you will always look elegant and put together.

Start the process with a quick and easy wardrobe organization. Immediately remove anything that is obviously worn out, stained or torn, as well as anything you haven't worn for a few years. If you can't mend it, bin it. Then separate your remaining clothing into piles of classics, basics and trend.

Classics - The classics are good quality items like jackets, coats, skirts and pants that fit you well, that look great and are still in great condition. They are the core items of your wardrobe that can be dressed up or down and will mix well with lots of other items.

Basics - The basics are good quality t-shirts, stockings and lingerie etc. These are items that get a lot of wear and should be replaced every season or so. Always buy the best quality you can afford and don't skimp on underwear - well-fitting lingerie can work minor miracles. The more careful you are when washing and storing your basics, the longer they will last.

Trend - Finally you should be left with a pile of trend clothing. These could be current trends or those from a few years ago that you are loath to throw out. While you may want to hang on to a few favourites, once the trend is over do you really have any need to keep them? Anything you decide to keep should be stored separately from the rest of your wardrobe.

Man Fashion - 7 Most Popular Types of Shirts

Some of the most common trends are in collar, a button front or cuffed sleeves. The materials frequently made up in crisp fabrics like cotton.

Classic Long-Sleeved Dress Shirt

You really can’t go wrong with this, as long as you find the right matching color and pattern. Try to find something that doesn’t have any pockets, if you can, for smart casual. White is most preferred color as it is easily match with whatever pants, but almost any color will work. However, the latest trend is black or other uncommon dark color, which is very popular in man fashion world, which was against those days where black is always related to mafia or gangsters. You can mostly find this type in the business attire or smart casual wear.

Short-Sleeved Dress Shirt

I realize it might be hot in the office, but this rarely looks good on a man. Makes me think high school science teacher the moment I see it. I might even ask where your pocket protector is! So those are the basics. There are other shirt styles out there that may look good on you, but these are pretty much safe for anyone. My advice is to avoid anything flashy or trendy - they tend to get you noticed for the wrong reasons. And by the way, you don't have to buy Polo brand - Land's End, L.L Bean, Hanes and many other companies make quality shirts. Just get something made of quality material and you'll be fine.

Long-Sleeved Polo Shirt

The most classic and mannish. Just make sure you leave at least the top button undone, ha ha, otherwise this will look like a geek. It is well received with solid colors and jeans or khakis. Tip: For jean, it is preferable to leave it un-tucked if this is not too long, but if wearing khakis, tuck it in.

The T-shirt Evolution

With every generation movie stars have worn them. Rock stars have shredded them. And celebrities have stripped them. Paris anyone? The t-shirt has been the fashion essential for over 70 years and probably another 70 years and more. So how did it get here and what does the future hold?

Origins - Call to Arms in Short Sleeves

The t-shirts humble beginnings can be traced back to the early 1930's. WWI European soldiers entrenched in mud wore the t-shirt as an undergarment. The advantages of the light cotton underwear were quickly adopted by the US military. By WWII the US Army and Navy had supplied the t-shirt as standard issue. T-shirts at the time were still considered underwear and not worn casually.

1950's - Cult Movie Bad Boys

With the help of a sweating Brando in the 1951 film "A Streetcar Named Desire", and later a brooding James Dean in "Rebel without a Cause" the t-shirt had moved to mainstream youth culture. By the time Elvis had gyrated, the teenage rebellion seed was planted and along with denim jeans the t-shirt had become the hot fashion statement.

1960's - From Beatniks to Vietnam

The 60's were well known for social upheavals and political events. Many subcultures developed from Beatniks, Mods, Rockers to eventually Hippy's. During the early 60's The Beatles had ignored the t-shirt opting for their trademark suits. But by the late 60's the haze of the Hippy generation had created the tie dyed t-shirt. Dunked in several buckets of colourful dyes it became a symbol of the psychedelic era and possibly one of the worst fashion crimes of the century. Other t-shirt styles were born including the ringer, muscle, v-neck and tank t-shirts. The invention of screen printing saw social and political slogans expressed on apparel especially for the anti war sentiments of Vietnam.

1970's - Your Disco Needs You

Rock emerged beating to death the Hippy's with their own sandals. The black t-shirt was now standard issue with printed logos of stadium rock Supergroups such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC and Pink Floyd. In the course of the mid 70's Surf apparel started appearing. Niche surfing brands such as Lightning Bolt, Billabong, Rip Curl and Quiksilver would later become big corporations. Athletic giants Adidas, Puma, Reebok and Nike also gained prominence with their branded printed tees, shoes and apparel. The decade was also known for it's many classic t-shirt motto's including the Smiley face, "Sh*t Happens" and "I love NY" which would see a revival after 911. Fonzie in the TV sitcom Happy Days paid homage to Brando and Dean 20 years before by reintroducing the blank white tee. In 1977 the Star Wars phenomenon had exploded. Star Wars t-shirts were everywhere for the tween. But for the twenty something's there was of course Disco. With movies like Saturday Night Fever and Thank God it's Friday the flared trousers and tight t-shirts became the usual 70's silhouette.

I'm A T-Shirt, I Am

I am a T-Shirt. You can say that the tale of my beginnings is as long as my arm. Perhaps you think that this is pretty short but in fact it is quite a long one, like my arm was once and is now sometimes. It is a pity that Charles Darwin was not around when I began life in this world or he would've been tremendously engrossed in my evolution.

I began life as a unassuming piece of clothe, buried under a layer and sometimes layers of clothing that a man wore. I spent my life out of sight, drenched in his sweat, either due to his toils or due to the weather or just because of a little metabolic oddity that he had. Sometimes some primeval fear made him sweat.

I was not known as a T-Shirt then, but as only a piece of undergarment. The idea of underwear did not in reality takeoff till the early 20th. century when P.H. Hanes, the brother of John Wesley Hanes, started the P.H. Hanes Knitting Company, in 1901; and began the production of masculine underwear. It was the U.S. Navy that actually accelerated my development when, during the Second World War, it issued my forerunner, a dress with a round neck and short sleeves having an appearance of a "T" (hence the T-Shirt).

Although I was still thought of as an undergarment, the news bulletins from the European war theatre showed me being dressed in the open by the European soldiers, to beat the heat and sultry European atmosphere. But, as it happens all the time, Hollywood walked in to make me more accepted as an apparel on my own rights. I, a T-Shirt, became to be taken note of and fashionable by the 50s when I was seen on the big screen, worn by Marlon Brando in the movie "A Streetcar Named Desire" followed by James Dean in the film "Rebel Without a Cause". The more I appeared on the silver screen the more my reputation grew as a T-Shirt. I became a national phenomenon.

How to Get Your Custom T-shirts Printing Job Done Fast

Here is a few tips for people looking for fast turnaround screen printed t-shirts. (These advises are for people looking for fast screen printed t-shirts instead of digitally printed t-shirts. Digitally printed t-shirts are done in a different process than screen print t-shirts, they have the advantage in speeding up the process since they do not need color separation and screen burning process. However screen printed t-shirts have better imprint color quality as well as better imprint longevity.)

Here is a check list for you to speed up your custom t-shirts job.

How ready is your artwork? Artwork can be categorized into 2 groups based on their origins. First are scanned images and second are computer generated images. In the first group, paintings, photographs, printed materials or the similar are scanned and save as digital files of your artwork. Quality of your digital artwork has a lot to do with your scanning resolution. Normal requirement is 300 dpi (dot per inch). However keep in mind that your reproductions will not be better than your originals. So no matter how high your scanning resolution is, you are simply not getting a better reproduction image if your original is not. So in a nutshell for people using this group of artwork, find the best quality original you can. Scan it at 300 dpi or better. Save it and send it to your printer without re-sizing it. The file size of your scanned image will potentially be big. However, supportive printer should be able to accommodate your file sending by either increasing the mail box size or arrange a FTP transfer for you. In the second group, computer generated images, we have 2 sub-groups which are raster images and vector images. Raster images are resolution dependant images such formats as tiff, jpg, psd.

The only requirement for this group is to make sure they are created in actual imprint size (or close to actual imprint size), and are in 300 dpi as original resolution (not resample resolution). The file size of this sub-group is potentially big, make sure you talk to your printers about the size of your artwork file before sending. The second sub-group is called vector based images such formats as ai, eps. They are resizable, non-resolution dependent artwork. Their file size are usually reasonable. They are very welcome by most printers due to their non-resolution dependent nature. When you submit vector based images, just make sure you create outlines for your type (so your printer won't run into missing font problem when opening your artwork), your image is created at actual size or close to actual size. And of course if you have a printer who is knowledgeable and capable in preparing artwork for you for a reasonable cost, that could be your best bet in making sure you don't waste time going back and forth on artwork format and requirement with your printer.

Do you know the type of shirts you want? There are many choices of shirts you can get . Make sure you did your homework and know what you want when placing an order for your custom t-shirts. If you just want basic t-shirts, it is pretty simple. Even though there are many brands of basic t-shirts, they are normally in 2 classes of fabric weight, 5.6 oz and 6.1 oz. Then you have pocket and non-pocket t-shirts for each weight, as well as long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts. Beside basic t-shirts, you will have fashion fitting t-shirts such as American Apparel and Tultex, these are slimmer fitting than the basic t-shirts. They are in ring-spun 30 single fine jersey fabric, meaning softer and finer fabric. Then we have even more choices for girls and ladies t-shirts such as cap sleeve, raglan 3/4 sleeve, scoop neck, boys beater tank tops, baby doll spaghetti, ringer t-shirts, camouflage t-shirts etc...

Do you research on t-shirt styles ahead of time will not only save you time, it will allow you to find the best style for your event.

If your custom t-shirts job requires individual names or numbers printed (such as team numbers), prepare a list to indicate the names or numbers and their sizes to expedite the process.

If there is dead line to meet, make sure your printer is aware of it as well as taken shipping time into consideration.

If you are under press of time and without artwork. Ask if your printer has any kind of ready art library that you can pick and ask them to modify to fit your requirement. It will be much faster than having yourselves starting from scratch.

Give your printer the Pantone number to indicate your imprint color when submitting your t-shirts order. This will save some time in communication and help speeding up your order.

Your printer should provide a paper proof for you to review the accuracy of your custom screen print t-shirt order. As soon as you finish your review, get back to your printer immediately so they can process your order right away.

Last but not least, there are shipping options such as 3-day select, 2nd day air and next day air to accommodate your need in speed. Ask for full price quote with different shipping options from your printer.

Color Changing Shooter Shirt

Color changing technology by PhotoChromic inks has been around the custom screen print and advertising industries for over a decade. The reason that this technology is still very popular among advertisers in custom screen print industry is the magical transformation of colors. This series of PhotoChromic colors come in basic colors such as red, blue, yellow, green and purple. When these colors are indoor and not exposed to ultraviolet light, they are almost colorless. However, when they are exposed to ultraviolet light (including sunlight) they will gradually turn into their own colors. The stronger light and longer expose duration, the higher the intensity of the colors. And of course there are limits as everything else, the colors will not increase their intensity after they reach their limits. PhotoChromic inks work the best with white t-shirts. However they also work with light color t-shirts such as natural. You would also want to take advantage of the magical color change by screen printing only a black and white image for the indoor image and leaves all the colors as PhotoChromic colors so they will only appear outdoor. In this way you optimize the color transformation between a black and white image and a full color image. We recommend PhotoChromic’s color changing technology for all outdoor events on t-shirts, sweatshirts and sportshirts. Imagine when your guests witness the magical color change. For sure that’s going to leave a long impression to them.
